Roots Music Reception

For over 30 years, Neurovations Education has held a meeting in Napa, California. I have always envisioned a performing arts event alongside the meeting, and this will make the second year we bring “Roots Music” to the stage.  An important, perhaps a primary goal of the event is to promote new artists.  We want to provide a platform for musicians, who are dedicated to authentic, roots music from many genres. Because of my personal background, we are going to feature Bluegrass this year.

This is in partnership with HealthRoots, which is a non-profit foundation established by the Grigsby family in 1996. Our early and current mission is to catalyze community health initiatives locally and internationally and drive innovation in the field of global public health. We have done this through direct involvement in on-the-ground initiatives in low-resource communities around the world, and by supporting the community of researchers, scientists, care providers, and innovators behind this important work.

With every project, we look for innovative partners here and in the field, leveraging our collective knowledge and resources to advance all of our work.

JT & FP

JimBo Trout and the Fishpeople are the essence of the “bluegrassish sound”–elements of bluegrass, old-time, ragtime, blues, western-swing, rockabilly, honky-tonk, jug band, jazz, swing, Cowboy, rock+roll, New Orleans, and more. But they are not a band that would let tradition stand in the way of a good time. The San Francisco-based JT&FP have been crafting their good-time musical gumbo since 1992.
