New Partnership Forges Promising Path for Pain Research
Neurovations Partners with Frontiers in Pain Research to Bring Publishing to the Forefront
May 31, 2022, Napa Calif., Neurovations Education and the Napa Pain Conference (NPC) have partnered with the journal Frontiers in Pain Research to create a publishing opportunity for research in pain intervention. The partnership will ensure abstract publication from the Napa Pain Conference and will forge a pathway for the publication of new pain research articles.
The Napa Pain Conference, now in its 29th year, will feature experts in interventional pain, policy, and research. NPC is a part of Neurovations, which was founded by Eric Grigsby, MD, MBA in 1992. Today, Neurovations is a national leader in medical device and pharmaceutical innovation, clinical research, and a world-class education program focusing on pain and neuroscience.
“My number one goal with innovation and research is to get solutions to patients as safely and quickly as possible. The partnership with Frontiers in Pain Research allows us to do exactly that. This will open the door for new treatments, discoveries, knowledge, and methodology. Ultimately, this partnership will offer better solutions for patients suffering from chronic pain,” said Dr. Eric Grigsby.
The journal Frontiers in Pain Research aims to encourage and disseminate high-quality pain research that challenges old and existing theories of mechanisms and treatment. With over 1,300 editors, Frontiers in Pain Research takes a holistic perspective covering mechanisms, treatments, socioeconomics, diagnostics, preventative measures, and pain management in a range of medical specialties such as rheumatology and orthopedics.
Dr. Tony Yaksh, the Editor-in-Chief of Frontiers in Pain Research, believes this partnership can open new opportunities and facilitate advances in pain research and management by enhancing knowledge dissemination.
“All quality studies contributing insights to the pathophysiology of pain and development of novel analgesics for improved clinical treatment and patient quality of life are welcome in this journal,” stated Dr. Yaksh.
The scope of the journal, as is the field of pain research, is dauntingly expansive, but reflects a threefold focus for manuscripts submission:
i) Elucidation of pain biology
ii) Characterization of pain interventions
iii) Clinical Translation
“As the field editor of Frontiers in Pain Research, I am extremely excited about this forthcoming Neurovations meeting and our collaboration to enhance the meeting’s impact through our publication of the high-quality manuscripts arising from this gathering of individuals interested in pain mechanism and management,” Dr. Yaksh continued.
The Napa Pain Conference takes place August 18-21, 2022 in Napa, California. “Unveiling this partnership in our 29th year of educating pain providers is an important step in our mission of innovation,” stated Dr. Grigsby.
Dr. Eric Grigsby, MD, MBA has devoted his life to advancing the diagnosis and treatment of chronic pain. In 1992, Dr. Eric Grigsby founded the Napa Pain Institute. Over 25 years later, he has grown a single, small clinic into Neurovations- a national patient care, and innovation company that includes medical device and pharmaceutical innovation, clinical research, pain and neuroscience education, and community health through the non-profit Foundation, HealthRoots.
Dr. Tony Yaksh is a Professor in Anesthesiology at the University of California San Diego, Editor in Chief of the journal Frontiers in Pain Research. His work involves 1) the in vitro and in vivo study of the release of cytokines, peptides, and lipidic acid from the brain and spinal cord; 2) the receptor pharmacology of systems in the brain and spinal cord which modulate nociception; 3) role of spinal nonneuronal cells and innate immunity in nociceptive processing; and 4)Pharmacokinetics and safety of spinally delivered drugs.
Neurovations, a patient care and innovation company, was founded in 1992 by CEO Dr. Eric Grigsby. Today, Neurovations is a national leader in medical device and pharmaceutical innovation, clinical research, and a world-class education program focusing in pain and neuroscience. Dr. Grigsby is deeply connected to the healthcare community through our nonprofit HealthRoots Foundation and to the Napa community through Rocca Family Vineyards, a producer of award-winning wines.
Our unwavering mission is to inspire hope and to contribute to the health and well-being of our patients and communities through integrated clinical practice, research, and education.
