David Hui, MD, MSc (Biochem), MSc (Pt Based Biol Research) is Associate Professor with Tenure; a practicing medical oncologist and palliative care specialist with a research focus in symptom management, prognostication, and integration of oncology and palliative care. He has published over 290 articles in peer-reviewed journals, such as JAMA, Lancet Oncology, JAMA Oncology, Journal of Clinical Oncology, Annals of Oncology and CA: A Cancer Journal for Clinicians.
Dr. Hui is principal investigator of multiple clinical trials funded by the National Cancer Institute (R01x3 and R21x1), National Institute of Nursing Research (R21), American Cancer Society and other agencies. he is a permanent member of an NIH grant review panel (Behavioral Medicine: Interventions and Outcomes).
Dr. Hui is Senior Associate Editor of the Journal of Pain and Symptom Management; Board member of the Multinational Association of Supportive Care in Cancer (MASCC); Chair of the European Society for Medical Oncology (ESMO) Breathlessness Guideline and co-chair of American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) Dyspnea Guideline.
